As the founder of Hardtuned, Loz Glen has been deeply embedded in car culture and drifting for decades, arguably paving the way for JDM culture in Australia. From importing one of the first Nissan Silvias into Australia in the late 90s to building a globally recognized automotive brand, Loz’s journey has always been tied to the machines and communities that shaped the sport.

His entry into motorsport came in 1997 after importing one of the first Nissan Silvias into Australia and launching the early online community nissansilvia.com. From there it was a natural progression into drifting and the wider motorsport world.

While Loz doesn’t compete in a championship series, there have still been plenty of memorable moments behind the wheel. Highlights include racing Radicals with Arise in Western Australia, competing in the Classic Adelaide Rally in a GR Yaris, many years attending Ebisu Matsuri with friends from Power Vehicles, and driving a GT-R at full speed through the streets during the Adelaide Motorsport Festival.

His current garage includes a diverse mix of track machines including the Hardtuned ViperGTR, Hardtuned 180SX, Porsche 911 GT3 (992), McLaren 720S and Toyota GR Yaris. Each car serves a different purpose, with the ViperGTR producing over 1000 horsepower while the other cars offer their own unique driving experiences.

Beyond the track, we love to learn a little more about the drivers themselves.

What is your favourite track or circuit to drive and why?

The Nürburgring Nordschleife and Ebisu Circuit for the elevations and technical driving, but honestly any mountain touge is where I’m happiest.

Any driving tips for beginners?

Network and have rich friends, or work your ass off first.

What hobbies do you have outside of racing?

Travel, snowboarding, fashion design and spending time with my daughter.

Dream street car?

A Ferrari F40 or Porsche 918 Spyder.
